Columbia Girls' Bugaboo Interchange Jacket - Waterproof & Insulated Winter Coat for Outdoor Activities, Hiking, and Snow Play

When I received this jacket my first reaction was that it is way too lightweight to keep my daughter warm during skiing on the coldest days of the winter. Was I ever wrong!!! My daughter has stayed warm and dry this entire ski season with this jacket. Even on the coldest and windiest days, she has not complained one time about the weather. This jacket is light weight and not bulky, even with the fleece liner, but yet super warm. I appreciate that the length is extended to cover her rear end for extra warmth. She has been out on the mountain on nights where the temp is in the low teens but still no complaints about being cold with this super warm coat. On warmer evenings when the temp was above 30 degrees she has worn nothing but a thin long sleeve t-shirt under the coat and has still been comfortable. The removable micro-fleece liner means that the coat is very versatile even for warmer days. The coat can be worn without the liner and the liner can also be worn alone, so these greatly extends the length of time your child will be wearing this jacket throughout the year. The Omni-Heat technology must be working and I am very impressed by the quality of this coat. I will buy this brand again when she outgrows it. Hopefully we will get another season out of this jacket thanks to the built in OUTGROWN feature which allows you to extend the length of the sleeves by almost 2 inches. Go to the Columbia website for exact sizing guidelines and then follow their size chart. I found that to be very accurate and give an excellent fit. My daughter usually wears a size 10 in girls clothing and so I ordered the kids size M (10/12) which was a perfect fit with room to grow. The sleeve cuffs have velcro tabs to adjust for a weather tight fit over her gloves. There are plenty of pockets and a reflective stripe on the back of the coat. With all of these great features, this coat exceeds my expectations. Highly recommend!!!!
